Calculator for Economic Evaluation of Investment Projects

The calculator makes a preliminary economic evaluation of green energy projects by computingcapital investment decision indicators before financing: a payback period, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and a Net Present Value (NPV).

Calculator Instructions

Insert revenues and expenses amounts for renewable energy projects (disregard savings);
Insert money savings for energy efficiency projects (disregard revenues and expenses);
Inset the total base project cost;
Insert the total project cost contingency (percentage of the base project cost);
Insert net income from CO2 emissions reduction trading (if applicable);
Insert project life in years (from 1 to 25);
The following estimated capital investment decision indicators will be displayed in the table below:
- Payback period (cell I15);
- IRR (cell I16);
- NPV (cell I17).
